Head Start Advisory Panel

The Head Start Advisory Panel was created to assist the Oakland City Council in its governance role for the Head Start program and is composed of at least six members appointed by the City Council’s Life Enrichment Committee.

The Head Start Advisory Panel advises and provides recommendations to the City Council in key program areas such as:

Program planning
Needs of Head Start eligible families and how those needs can be addressed within the mandates of the program
Program philosophy, multi-year goals and annual objectives
Selection of new delegate agencies to operate part of the program
