Using CSBG American Recovery and Re-investment Act 2009 (ARRA) funds, OCAP is expanding its existing training, education, and employment opportunities with its currently funded agencies by piloting an intensive training and transitional employment program designed to create between 120-150 employment opportunities for Oakland’s hard to serve low-income residents. The proposed training programs will focus on low-skill employment and education opportunities in Green Jobs/Weatherization, Building Trades/Home Rehabilitation, Logistic/Warehousing, and Regional Industry Growth sectors. Services and activities will include outreach, recruitment, career development training, paid transitional employment, subsidized/unsubsidized employment, retention, and education.
